PUMA x PLEASURES – Paris Fashion Week.

So, fashion week I’m in Paris.

I feel like there’s a running theme here and it’s that the cool brand trips I seem to take are always with PUMA. So, PUMA, thank you and to my other brands - please send me somewhere nice.

For the latest instalment of my travel diaries I flew to Paris, in fact I flew back from my vacay in Greece, touched down in the UK, washed my clothes, cuddled my dog who currently feels like an orphan and repacked a case to fly to Paris.

Lies.

I missed my flight… by 3 minutes. Worst thing was, it was literally 45mins before my flight so technically I had time, but the staff at bag drop had other ideas and I couldn’t board, but was I missing fashion week?

Of course not.

I booked another flight for 7.30pm that evening, the only flight which wasn’t going to bankrupt me, and I sat in Caffè Nero in the airport for 12 hours.

Sorry I’ll just repeat that in case you didn’t read it… 12 hours!

Unfortunately, once you park your car at the airport, the clock starts ticking and the moment you drive out of the carpark, you have to rebook airport parking. Also, since I couldn’t drop my luggage until 2 hours before my flight, I couldn’t pass through security so I couldn’t even enjoy duty free or an airport lounge. Painful.

So, I ordered a coffee and prepared for the 12hour wait - I felt like Tom Hanks in The Terminal.

Not that this blog is used for food / drink reviews, but Caffè Nero’s light blend coffee is much nicer than the dark blend and I can definitely recommend a blueberry muffin for breakfast and popcorn for lunch.

Anyways, moving on… touchdown in Paris.

Normally when a brand invites us to an event, it’s an opportunity for us to capture content for our socials and network. Our social team normally cover everything and post live across our IG and our talent team are on hand to meet and greet influencers who we invite to capture more content from a different perspective.

On this occasion it was just me and our social team. Fortunately for me, I didn’t have content to capture so it was a great opportunity to speak to the brand, network and meet some of our Parisian influencers.

It was an outdoor pop-up event at the PLEASURES showroom to celebrate the launch of their PUMA Velophasis collaboration. The PUMA Velophasis is an archive-inspired trainer, taking influence from 2000’s running models. It’s also a key product for the brand this season and it looks unreal in the pink / purple colourway, which launched exclusively at the showroom on the 21st June and officially on the 24th June 2023.

As it was Féte De La Musique, the streets of Paris were filled with various pop ups from different brands and publications, playing music from sound systems… so basically a huge street party.

If you follow me on Instagram, you will have seen all the videos – the scooter guy… legend (check my highlights).

The event had a variety of artists perform alongside a DJ and ran from 3pm-8pm followed by a night time event. As always it was a pleasure seeing the brands, especially PLEASURES as they’re based out in the states and travelled over for the event and fashion week.

Afterwards we disappeared into the streets of Paris and the rest is history.
